Installation
macOS (Apple Silicon)
- Download
Derby-latest-macos.pkgfrom the download page - Double-click the PKG file to open the installer
- Follow the installation wizard
- Launch Derby from Applications
Gatekeeper
Derby is signed and notarized by Apple. If you see a security warning, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway".
Windows (64-bit)
- Download
Derby-latest-windows.exefrom the download page - Run the installer
- Follow the installation wizard
- Launch Derby from the Start menu or desktop shortcut
SmartScreen
Windows may show a SmartScreen warning. Click "More info" then "Run anyway". Derby is signed with a trusted certificate.
Linux (64-bit)
- Download
Derby-latest-linux.AppImagefrom the download page - Make the file executable:
chmod +x Derby-latest-linux.AppImage - Run:
./Derby-latest-linux.AppImage

Automatic Updates
Derby includes automatic updates. When a new version is available, you'll be notified and can update with one click. Updates are delta-based, so only changed files are downloaded.
Uninstalling
- macOS: Drag Derby from Applications to Trash
- Windows: Use "Add or Remove Programs" in Settings
- Linux: Delete the AppImage file
