Match Presenter

Advanced feature

The Match Presenter is a fullscreen tournament standings window designed for projectors and large displays. It shows live rank, score, and time for every participant, with flexible grouping (by group, round, phase, or unified view), sorting (by score or by time), advancement indicators (auto-computed plus forced-in/out overrides), and an integrated QR code so spectators can follow along on their phones.

License Requirement

Match Presenter is an Advanced tier feature. It is not available in Basic or Demo licenses.

What It Shows

The Match Presenter displays:

  • Live standings — Rank, score, and elapsed time for every participant, updated after each outcome
  • Grouping — View by group, round, phase, or a single unified standings table
  • Sorting — Sort participants by score or by time
  • Advancement indicators — Auto-computed qualified/eliminated markers, plus forced-in/out overrides
  • QR code — Integrated QR so spectators can follow live tracking on their phones

Opening the Presenter

Generate a schedule

You need an active schedule before opening the presenter. Go to Matching and select a schedule.

Open Match Presenter

Go to View > Match Presenter or press the presenter button in the toolbar. A new window opens.

Move to external display

Drag the presenter window to your projector or external monitor. Then click Full Screen or press F11.

Control from main window

Return to the main Derby window to record outcomes. The presenter updates automatically.

Display Layout

The presenter uses a clean, high-contrast layout optimized for viewing from a distance:

Recording Outcomes

While the presenter is open, record fight outcomes from the main Derby window:

  1. Select the current fight in the schedule view
  2. Click the outcome button: Left Win, Right Win, or Tie
  3. The presenter automatically advances to the next fight
  4. Rankings update in real time
Keyboard Shortcuts

Use keyboard shortcuts for faster outcome recording: G for Left Win, R for Right Win, T for Tie.

Fight Timer

The presenter includes an optional countdown timer for timed matches:

  • Start/Stop — Click the timer or press Space
  • Reset — Double-click to reset to the configured duration
  • Configure duration — Set in phase settings (e.g., 15 minutes)
  • Audio alert — Optional sound when timer reaches zero

Multi-Monitor Setup

For the best experience, use a multi-monitor setup:

  1. Monitor 1 (operator) — Main Derby window for recording outcomes
  2. Monitor 2 (audience) — Match Presenter in full screen

On Windows, use Win + Shift + Arrow to move windows between monitors. On macOS, drag the window to the desired display.

Customization

The presenter appearance can be customized:

  • Theme — Follows Derby's theme setting (dark/light)
  • Font size — Adjusts based on window size
  • QR code visibility — Show/hide via View menu
  • Rankings count — Configure how many teams to show

Streaming Integration

For live streaming, you have two options:

  1. Window capture — Capture the presenter window in OBS/vMix
  2. Streaming Overlay — Use the dedicated browser source overlay for more control (see Streaming Overlay)

Regional Terminology

  • Presentador de peleas — Spanish name for Match Presenter
  • Pantalla de peleas — Alternative term (fight screen)

Troubleshooting

Presenter not updating

  • Ensure the presenter window is open (not minimized)
  • Check that you're recording outcomes in the main window
  • Try closing and reopening the presenter

Display issues on projector

  • Set projector to "Extend" mode, not "Duplicate"
  • Match the projector's native resolution
  • Use Full Screen mode for best results
