Multiple arenas

Distribute fights across multiple physical rings with automatic load balancing and optimized per-team cadence.

How it works

When the event has multiple rings, Derby automatically distributes fights across available arenas, balancing the workload and preventing the same team from fighting in consecutive positions.

Automatic balancing

The zoning system considers how many times each team participates. Teams with more fights are spread out so they don't appear in adjacent slots, giving them preparation time between fights.

Optimized cadence

A penalty algorithm prevents players or teams from having consecutive fights. This ensures an even pace for all event participants.

  • Smart distribution — Automatic fight assignment to arenas based on load
  • Anti-adjacency — Same team doesn't fight in consecutive slots of a arena
  • Frequency priority — Teams with more fights are distributed first
  • Configurable count — Define how many arenas your event needs

Quality metrics

After generating the fight schedule, Derby shows quality indicators to evaluate matching accuracy:

  • Qe (sum of errors) — Sum of squared weight differences between all matched pairs
  • Average — Average weight difference between opponents
  • Maximum — Largest weight difference in a single fight of the schedule
